For the school year 2017-18, our museum has inaugurated a new exhibit entitled "The Last Heritage of the Lega ", a people with great and original arts.

Our museum offers images, objects, phrases, new and ancient artifacts, for visitors, schools and groups. The didactic exhibit The Last Heritage of the Lega, include the "Cord of Wisdom", stories of Bwami, statues and masks from the people Lega of the Democratic Republic of Congo!

This exhibit, with objects, phrases, statues of various countries of the world, and with educational videos, follows the multicultural approach of the museum of Chinese Art and Ethnography of the Xaverian Missionaries, targeting schools of every kind and degree.

The exhibit “The Last Heritage of the Lega” is open Tuesday through Saturday, 9:00am-2:00pm, for the entire school year.

Chinese Art

Terracotta jar of the Third Millennium BC, with two handles, clay color, and coating decorated in black and red with dark spirals.

Kayapò Exhibit

The most complete collection of objects in Italy of the Kayapò, a small group of Indios who live in the Amazon area of Brazil. Read about the values of the Kayapò, through the symbols that affirm their identity: body painting, myths of origins, their life and natural habitat, their household utensils.

Traditional African Art

The museum shows a wide variety of objects coming from areas in Africa (Congo, Sierra Leone, Cameroon) where the Xaverian missionaries have worked. This is a Lega mask, among the many on display.
